Solange De Santis brings a lively, authoritative voice and great versatility to coverage of the arts. She has written about off-Broadway theaters and Shakespeare at Stratford, opera and rock, dance, literature, museums, and film. She has interviewed Robertson Davies, John Huston, B.B. King and the last three artistic directors of the Stratford Festival, among others. She is currently the Chair of the Village of Mamaroneck Arts Council.
Ms. Williams’ expansive career as a freelance dance artist, choreographer and teacher has spanned three decades. After completing her BFA from The Juilliard School, she danced internationally with the Mark Morris Dance Group for over 10 years. She also taught in the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase for a decade and then furthered her dance education with an MFA from Sarah Lawrence College in 2015. She continues to teach, perform and create. This lecture sheds light on what it means to be a professional dancer.
Creator of the Center Ave. mural entitled “Free,” Piero Manrique, originally from Peru, grew up in Mamaroneck. Working out of his local studio, Manrique, known for his vibrant colors and textured applications of paint, creates commissioned custom art & mural designs that integrate with the environment. With a degree in Architecture from Parsons, he combines his extensive training as an architect and designer with his skill as a fine artist to produce art throughout the U.S. and abroad.
